Brush pick-up

This service is provided in Spring and Summer, April 1 to September 30, to dispose of brush and tree limbs with a diameter no greater than 4 inches.

The Village will pick up brush at the curb the first Monday of the month, weather permitting. The brush pick-up is a recycle program. Nothing that is picked up should end up in the landfill. The Village has a contract with an individual who does organic farming. That contract allows us to dispose of chipped brush and leaves, which can be composted and used for fertilizer. The contract does not allow us to dispose of metal objects, construction materials, lumber, potting soil, flowers, straw, weeds, grass, stumps, or other debris. If you place material other than brush in the street, you will be asked to remove it.

Leaf pick-up

In the Autumn months, instead of brush, we will pick up leaves. Leaf pickup begins when the leaves fall, which is usually between mid-October and Halloween. Please rake leaves to the curb. Pick-up will begin each Monday and continue as weather permits. The Village will not pick up brush during leaf season, because we must change equipment for each operation. We cannot pick up grass clippings, because our contractor will not accept them. Please make sure to place all leaves at the curb by the week of December 1. We cannot pick up any leaves after that week.
